This Canadian electronic music duo is from Toronto and consists of Dylan Mamid better known as DC, and Zachary Rapp-Rovan better known as Hooks. This Duo was introduced through mutual friends in 2004 when DC asked if Hooks could paint a graffiti mural in his garage. They had both just started producing music as solo artists and when they discovered they both had the same passion for music they decided to join forces and create the sensational duo we now know as Zeds Dead.
They got the Name Zeds Dead from a line spoken by Bruce Willis’ character Butch in Pulp Fiction. Fabienne said “Whose chopper is this?” where Butch responded, “It's Zed's.” and Fabienne asked “Who's Zed?” to where Butch responded with the famous “Zed's dead, baby. Zed's dead.” This duo rose to fame by releasing original music as well as remixes from 2009 to 2010 before becoming a staple on the international touring circuit. Zeds Dead initially found their niche audience on my space.
They self-released their first track “Journey of a lifetime” and played their first set at the social in Toronto in 2009. They then went on to release “Rude Boy” in 2010 which now has over eight and a half million streams on Spotify alone! Those are insane numbers for an electronic duo, but they just kept getting better and better with their next hit “Where the Wild Things are” which has over twenty-three million streams! They then released a remix of “Eyes on Fire” which has an astounding sixty-two million views. They also have an incredible following that is constant for them. Over 2 million people that listen to them on a monthly basis and millions more that follow their socials.
Zeds Dead is a sensational duo that will have your heart racing and your body jumping with every single song they have lined up! You do not want to miss out on this amazing opportunity to see them live and experience the strobe lights that are timed perfectly to their insane beats. Go hit that “Buy Tickets Now” button and get ready for an adrenaline rush of not that is paired with the most insane music!
