Four movies, and an upcoming fifth installment coming up, Shrek has become a cultural icon among a generation of fans who grew up with its films in the 2000s. The kids back then have all grown up, so we're out here partying hard all in green as a DJ mixes the films' wildest hits and iconic soundtrack. The Shrek Rave will feature the best music, hilarious games, and a roster of themed drinks that'll have you wildin' all-night long.

What started as a fan gathering of Shrek fans turned into a global phenomenon as the event went crazy viral. Making its way out of the U.S., international fans have joined in on the Shrek Rave craze. As they say, 'It's dumb, just come have fun!"

In a conversation with Shay Castle of Boulder Weekly, the rave's founder spills some thoughts about their crazy creation. "Shrek Rave is a lot of people’s first-ever rave," said Ka5sh, an LA-based artist. "A lot of people don’t know how to get into it or where to go. Especially a lot of kids coming up during the pandemic, they didn’t get nightlife."

Introducing the rave culture to these younger crowds, it's not as scary as one might think. From a fundraiser for his sister to a global phenomenon, Shrek Rave is rooted in building communities, sharing a safe space for these Shrek fans to be who they are. "There’s been a Shrek rave in every continent. We’ve hit the whole world," he shared.

Fun in the Swamp

Everyone's welcome to party in Shrek's electrifying swamp. Thousands of fans and even critics from media outlets have praised the event's buzzing atmosphere. Attendees were stunned to find Shrek twins, "I counted two, then four, then suddenly there were a dozen Shreks all around me," said Ben Coleman of Portland Mercury.

From its first night in LA back in 2022, the Shrek Rave has since visited Australia, Europe, New Zealand, and the United Kingdom. For sure, more cities are waiting to land the chance to experience the wild night.
