Everyone here at The Hollywood Palladium in Los Angeles, and all of America really, are so excited to welcome the icons of rock and roll, The Sex Pistols, back to North America for their Never Mind The Bollocks Tour. The tour will see the original members of the band (Steve Jones, Paul Cook, and Glen Matlock) hit fifteen venues across America. Including a stop in Dallas to kick things off, a stop in Montreal’s iconic MTELEUS stage at the end of September, and ending the run right here in Los Angeles on October 16th at The Palladium. And even more fun - the tour is dedicated to their album Never Mind The Bollocks (NMTB), and they will be playing the album in its entirety at every show. And even more fun, the group will be releasing vinyls of their Live In The U.S.A. archival sets at every stop. The vinyl will feature their 1978 tour run in America that saw them deliver iconic performances in Atlanta and San Francisco (only this time - we promise they won’t break up in San Fran again like before).
The Sex Pistols rarely need an introduction, and their influence on rock and roll can only be likened to other icons at their level - The Beatles, Dead Kennedys, and The Rolling Stones - as far as their widespread appeal goes. But no one does punk like The Sex Pistols did it, and to see them doing another American tour is a special treat for anyone who gets to experience the boys live. They’ve been called a fascist regime by the monarchy, were banned from BBC, and are one of the most - if not the most - influential bands in the U.K. ever. They have technically only released one studio album - Never Mind The Bollocks, Here Are The Sex Pistols. The group had crazy internal feuds (they even changed the lineup of members as they were recording the album), which is probably why we only saw one album from them and why they broke up while touring America. The album was a smash hit - going Gold in only a few weeks, charting (despite record shops not selling it anywhere) highly for over a year, and breaking multiple records in the U.K. In retrospect, the album has been considered one of the most influential of all time, and critically acclaimed on lists by Rolling Stone and TIme Magazine.
So basically, what we’re saying is you need to see this album live - and we got you covered with tickets right here. Grab your today, right now, and let’s party with the brothers from across the pond.
