My Morning Jacket at Hollywood Palladium

New Album, out March 21

My Morning Jacket has recently announced a brand new record. Out March 21 via ATO, the rock outfit’s 10th album is called “Is.” The record is spearheaded by the single “Time Waited.” The single has landed with a music video which is directed by Danny Clinch and incorporates archival images and performance footage from the band. Formed in 1998, My Morning Jacket is made up of vocalist/guitarist Jim James, bassist Tom Blankenship, drummer Patrick Hallahan, guitarist Carl Broemel, and keyboardist Bo Koster.

This new album is the followup to 2021’s self-titled record. “Is” is produced by the Grammy-winning Brendan O’Brien who is known and loved for his work with music heavyweights like Bruce Springsteen and Pearl Jam. My Morning Jacket frontrunner Jim James, who has produced or co-produced all of the group’s studio albums since debuting in 1999 with The Tennessee Fire, spoke about relinquishing control to somebody else.

“Up until now I’ve never been able to let go and allow someone else to steer the ship,” Jim James said in a statement. “It almost felt like an out-of-body experience to step back and give control over to someone who’s far more accomplished and made so many more records than us, but in the end I was able to enjoy the process maybe more than I ever have before.”

My Morning Jacket Is On Tour

This April, My Morning Jacket will be hitting the road on a headline North American tour. The super exciting trek will kick off in Chattanooga, TN and include a five-night homecoming outing at Louisville Palace. The following month, the group will perform at the New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival. My Morning Jacket Is On Tour picks back up August 5 in Bend, OR and boasts a pair of dates at Morrison, CO’s world famous Red Rocks Amphitheatre, as well as an August 22 gig at Berkeley, CA’s famed Greek Theatre. A third run starts on October 8 in Washington, DC and includes stops at Atlanta, Brooklyn, and Chicago.
