Get ready to party! Romy of the xx just announced a massive tour, taking club parties to the stage across Europe, UK, and North America. In support of her new album, Mid Air, she's transforming gig venues into nightclub dancefloors at the Club Mid Air Tour. As her new record is largely inspired by clubbing culture, her newest hits such as "Enjoy Your Life", "Loveher", "The Sea", and "She's in My Mind" sent listeners straight to the dancefloor.
Gearing up for her non-stop parties, inviting all of her fans, "the shows will be places for celebration, salvation, and sanctuary on the dancefloor, with Romy joined by a personally curated selection of DJs," a press release shared.
The club is surely a sanctuary for souls longing for a rush of emotion, taking every feeling into the air. Club Mid Air will also bring a couple of DJs personally selected by yours truly, from personal favorites to President DJs at local queer nights. They'll also come down to play and drop a couple beats in the mix. If you think this is your ordinary live stage concert, you're in for a surprise. She's bound to "make 7pm feel like midnight!"
"The club has been such a huge inspiration to ‘Mid Air’, come and dance with me shoulder to shoulder," she shared in an official announcement. It's definitely a mega party to watch out for!
Produced with Jamie xx, Fred Again, and Stuart Price, Romy's new record definitely hits hard, sending listeners straight to the club. Inspired by her queer nightlife, the record is an exploration of fond memories and pays homage to the pop euphoria of the '90s and 2000s.
"I was definitely more of an observer of the dance floor [rather] than being in the middle of it," Romy told NME in an interview. "I was always noticing what songs were going down well, and I loved seeing big bold pop music being celebrated [and] not listened to ironically."
Recalling days when she'd mix beats and play songs that got everyone's hands in the air, she knew that pop undeniably has a great impact on people's lives. "When I DJ, I like to feel my heart rate go up as the chord progressions connect with my emotions," she shared. It's definitely the same feeling with Mid Air. "So for me, this album is an invitation to dance and connect with your feelings – on a night out with your friends, or in a different way, maybe, when you listen alone," she told NME.
Whatever the occasion, Romy's nightclub bangers speak and shake our souls. Launching endless parties in celebration of her solo record, it's bound to be a blast. Don't miss out by booking your tickets now!
