“So, the encore continues. The songs came back to life and they want to be heard. They need to be heard. Come out and have some fun with us. You deserve it. Yes. You do.” These are the very words of Jarvis Cocker, frontman of the band Pulp, as he announced the band’s 2024 tour.

The tour’s North American leg is a short run which will kick off at Chicago’s Byline Bank Aragon Ballroom on September 8. A back-to-back concert at the Hollywood Palladium will cap off the tour on September 18 and 19. Hollywood Palladium is indeed the right venue to cap off the band’s tour in the US. The Los Angeles standing-room venue is perfect to dance and groove along to Pulp’s hits.

Pulp is undoubtedly one of the faces of the 90s and 2000s Britpop scene. Along with the likes of Oasis, Suede, Blur, and Pulp, the “Common People” hitmakers have become household names in the industry and whose popularity reached North America and the rest of the world. Pulp, in particular, reluctantly became one of the figureheads of the Britpop movement — thanks to their blend of various musical influences and Jarvis Cocker's distinctive vocals.

Over the years, the band was able to garner several awards and recognitions from different distinguished award-giving bodies, including the prestigious Mercury Prize in 1996. Although the band was not able to continue their success in the mid-2000s because they have taken a hiatus, the band's legacy is very much alive, and they have continued to inspire many pop-alternative bands all over the world.

However, after a lengthy hiatus, Pulp reunited in 2011, much to their loyal fans' delight. Aside from playing in several festivals, the band ventures into several projects, including a documentary in 2014 titled "Pulp: A Film about Life, Death & Supermarkets," which offered a personal glimpse into the band's life and Sheffield, their hometown.

The band also embarked on a reunion tour in 2023, but much to their American fans' dismay, Pulp only performed in the UK. However, a recent announcement from the band delighted all their loyal fans in the US and Canada because the British hitmakers will perform in a few shows in North America. September 18 and 19 will see a back-to-back performance at the Hollywood Palladium. For all those Pulp fans in Los Angeles, here's your chance to relive the band's iconic Britpop sound.
